Materials - vinyls and elastomers Although there are several options to choose from, Vibratex uses only the highest quality food grade vinyl and 100% elastomers when making our toys. A concern of phthalates (pronounced "thay-lates") is high on our list of priorities. The smell test is one of the easiest ways to determine if your vinyl toys have large amounts of phthalates in them. The smellier they are, the more phthalates they may have. Our vibrators may have 1 part phthalates to a million parts vinyl. Our elastomer toys do not contain any phthalates at all. This is one of the reasons why we are switching many of our best sellers to the elastomer material. We use only 100% Elastomer.
